22 Sep TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS FOR OFFSHORE FACILITIES – REACH INTEGRATED AWARDED DIGITAL MICROWAVE RADIO (DMR) SYSTEMS BY EXXONMOBIL MALAYSIA
ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Malaysia Inc. (EMEPMI) is one of the major crude oil producers and suppliers of natural gas in Malaysia. It operates under four Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) with the Malaysian national oil company, PETRONAS, producing about one-fifth of the nation’s oil production and about one-half of natural gas supplies to Peninsular Malaysia.
EMEPMI has awarded Reach Integrated an order to Design, Supply, Install, Test & Commission Ten (10) point to point 7GHz Digital Microwave Radio (DMR) links at the following offshore platforms:-
a. Link # 1 – JERNEH A to LAWIT A (2+2 SD)
b. Link # 2 – SEMANGKOK A to IRONG BARAT A (2+2 SD)
c. Link # 3 – IRONG BARAT A to GUNTONG D (2+2 SD)
d. Link # 4 – GUNTONG D to GUNTONG A (2+2 HS)
e. Link # 5 – PALAS A to GUNTONG A (2+2 HS)
f. Link # 6 – GUNTONG A to TAPIS A (2+20HS)
g. Link # 7 – TAPIS A to TAPIS C (2+2 HS)
h. Link # 8 – TAPIS C to TAPIS B (2+2 HS)
i. Link # 9 – TAPIS R to TAPIS D (2+2 HS)
j. Link # 10 – TAPIS D to IRONG BARAT A (2+2 SD)
The above initiative by EMEPMI will boost the telecommunication capability of these offshore platforms, allowing greater inter-platform communication capacity as well as equipping them with the latest DMR technology available in the market.
